Event

Do players need to sign any forms?
Yes. We must have a signed Liability Waiver for all players. For players under 18 years of age, the form must be signed by their parent or legal guardian.

How long does setup and cleanup take?
Setup and cleanup each take around 30 minutes.

Is there anything the host needs to do to prepare?
Make sure the area that will be used for the play field is clear of things like dog waste, sprinklers, lawn ornaments, and toys.

Determine any areas that should be “off limits” like gardens, flower beds, or storage areas. Notify the crew of these areas and they will place markers and instruct players to stay out of those areas.

Play Field

How big of an area is required?
The amount of space required for the play field depends on how many players will be playing at once. The smallest area we would recommend would be about 15×25 feet.

Feel free to contact us and we can make sure the area you have in mind is suitable for laser tag.

Can we play indoors?
Yes, although only in a large open space such as a gymnasium.

Are trees and bushes a problem?
Most trees, bushes, sheds, and other obstacles are not a problem. In fact they can often make the game more fun by providing interesting spots to hide.

Are slopes and hills a problem?
Gentle slopes are not a problem but large hills might be.

What are barriers?
Barriers are large objects for players to hide behind. Our barriers made of corrugated plastic and they attach to the ground with tent stakes. They are designed with safety in mind. They are strong enough to stay up on their own, but are designed to collapse if a player falls into them to prevent injury.

Players

What should players wear?
Players should wear clothes that do not restrict their movement and that allow them to stay cool. They should not wear anything that they could trip on or that could fall off them and cause other players to trip.

How safe is laser tag?
Laser tag is a very safe sport but as with any athletic activity, accidents can happen.

Before each player plays for the first time, they will go through a short training session that includes safety rules. Our crew will also remind players of important safety rules before each game starts. During games, our crew watches to make sure everyone is staying safe and having fun.

At least one crew member at each event is Red Cross certified in first aid and CPR.

For more information, see the Safety page.

Are the lasers safe?
Despite the name, most laser tag, including Blaster Bash, doesn’t actually use lasers. It uses infrared (IR), the same technology used by your TV remote control.

For more information, see the Safety page.

How many players can play at once?
Up to 24 players can play in a game at once. More players can play, but they have to take turns.

Is there an age requirement?
There is no strict age requirement, but we recommend players be at least eight years old to play.

Game

What are the rules?
Please see our Code of Conduct.

How long do games last?
Games usually last five minutes. However, we can customize this if you prefer shorter or longer games.

How many games can we play during our bash?
For a two-hour bash, playing five-minute games, you can probably play about 8–10 games. Time is needed before each game to configure and hand out the blasters and after each game to collect the blasters and for players to view their scores.

What is the range of the blasters?
Our blasters can shoot 300 feet or more.

Can we play at night?
Yes, although our crew needs enough light to make sure that the players stay safe and play fairly.
